We are a pre-launch startup looking for an experienced Operations & Strategy Manager to join our team. Reporting to the COO /CPO, the Operations Manager will help us shape the future of Motion and will be a key team member helping us launch the business.
About the role
As Business Operations & Strategy Manager you will manage a small central team responsible for implementing our operations strategy to ensure we maintain the value and smooth business operation and Motion platform delivery. You will have a direct impact on accelerating the company’s growth and profitability trajectory by designing and implementing robust processes, managing performance across our markets and identifying and executing key areas of opportunity. The Business Operations Manager serves on a company’s leadership team to oversee the performance, efficiencies and satisfaction of employees. The role sits at the intersection of central operations, business development, marketing, and customer service teams with significant visibility across the organization.

What you'll do
- Set the foundation of our end-state ops processes to enable us to rapidly scale across the US as wells as internationally
- Project Management of business operations and tech hub office buildouts and operational execution of future expansion projects
- Collaborate with executive-level management in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans
- Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental cross and border collaboration. You should have demonstrated the ability to work with various department heads to ensure that everyone’s operational needs are heard and incorporated into the plan
- Work closely with our product development and acquisition team and markets to get rent-ready business platform operation and delivery in a quick and cost-efficient manner
- Support leadership to analyze the company's organizational process and will find ways to enhance employees' work quality and productivity
- Set strategic goals for tech startup operational efficiency and increased productivity
- Support the launch of new products and markets and work closely with market leaders to scale operations and improve processes and readiness
- Support the execution of Motion's Strategic Partnership Program, build and growth partnerships with key service providers and key vendors to ensure we are able to collect and harness platform data and information to meet operational goals and keep costs low
- Assist with research, evaluation, procurement and deployment of tools/systems necessary for the success of Motion's business operations in coordination with the respective executive team member
- Build operational policies and strategies that keep the organization functioning smoothly.
- Collaborate closely with Human Resources and Talent Managers to establish recruiting, training and hiring strategies that help them locate and bring on quality candidates.
- Help develop and promote the company’s culture of success and dedication to customer service
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum 4 years of experience in management consulting or management projects and programs in technology companies, in a tech environment, or previous work with a tech startups
- Exceptional computer proficiency across a wide range of common business software tools. MS Office suite required
- “Big picture” thinking, which is key to addressing top-level concerns and finding the best path forward from all of the available data
- Experience in a fast-based business environment with a proven ability to balance multiple competing priorities simultaneously
- A “can do” attitude and “get it done” mentality
- The ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment
- Experience setting, growing and leading a high-performance team
- Drive company culture and motivate employees to perform at their best
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build sustainable relationships and influence stakeholders

- Strong personal and professional judgment, which are invaluable skills for a role that makes hiring decisions as well as in finding the best solution to organizational dilemmas
- Adaptability, enabling the Operations Manager to respond quickly to a shifting reality and adjust initiatives and priorities accordingly
- Organizational skills and the flexibility to jump from priority to priority, which are essential to a role that juggles a variety of functions and projects
- Experience in companies with B2B multi-sided platform business model
- Experience in technology, fintech, Healthtech industries
- Previously worked with early-stage, scale-up, or rapid growth / scale up technology start-ups
